Default Audi A3 antenna amplifier location

Hi

I am a first time Audi owner and recently purchased a 2007 Audi A3 3.2L. My Radio reception is poor on FM and no reception for AM. Following leads on this forum I took down the header section infront of the rear hatch in order to find the antenna amplifier however it is not present. I have the black fin on top of the car and a cable runs down from it but it does not have the amplifier present in the describe location being under the reader header cover. Can somebody kindly tell me whether it is located in another area of the car, or if I am chasing the wrong problem whereby I do not have a antenna amplifier? I simply want my radio to work for FM, AM. Additional information is that it a 'bose factory' system.

Thanks

They're mounted in the hatch. Take the trim off the interior of the hatch itself.

Default Clarification

Thank you for your response do you mean the backdoor itself? Or within the car itself under some of the molding?

The hatch--the antenna is on the rear glass.

Thank you for your response does MikeSS does this mean that the amplifier which is what I am assuming is faulty is also located in the rear hatch? The shark fin on the top of the car,..is this only for the phone then?
Thanks again

Phone, GPS, and satellite radio. The radio antenna amplifiers are in the hatch.

Ok so would i best to proceed by pulling off the back panel on the hatch itself? Locate the amplifier and replace it? Does anyone have a diagram or link to a diagram that would make things easier? All links I have that reference a 2007 a3 show an image where the amplifier is in the cabin roof whereas I am trying to locate mine that by this thread indicates it is behind the cover within the rear hatch?

Default Next Steps - need some guidance please

I pulled off the interior and exposed the electronics. I've tested that the antenna leads off the rear windshield is not broken. From the link above I have part #9 and part #10 with a standard bose cassette deck/cd player stereo. Part #9 is 90 dollars and Part #10 is 300. Is there a way to test to identify which one to buy?
