Selling 2024 RS3
Hello all,
I've decided to try and see if I can sell my RS3. I placed an order 2 years ago and it just came in but as my wife now works from home full time, I don't really need a second vehicle. However, it was either purchase it or lose my deposit, so I went ahead.
I've decided that if I can sell it and get a premium for someone "skipping the line" by 2 years, great, if not, I'll just keep it.
It's listed on auto trader at the moment, shown below:

Also, as I said, nobody is over their head, I can keep the car if I wish, but if I can get a premium, I'll sell it.
But I honestly haven't checked around at dealerships. So maybe you're right. Time will tell.

Today’s market is a far cry from where it was two years ago. The depreciation is going to exceed the downpayment that you tried to save. Hopefully you prove me wrong.

I have found at least 4 RS3 of this exact same spec that I can buy at MSRP today. MSRP is the norm across all RS3 and there are 75-100 sitting at dealers across the country.

Don't mean to bust your *****, but I got mine at MSRP last December without placing any orders. Now it was short of a miracle in terms of color and package deal was exactly what I speced out but still. Since then the inventory has gone up quite a bit and dealers have backed off the over MSRP charges.
I bought a new Toyota 3 years ago and its value went up over the first year, when I put the car up for sale I was asking too much, but the market crashed very fast and ended up selling for way less then I could have sold it when it went up on the market. Point is, don't get caught up in that idea that just because you waited 2 years the market won't change. You gotta remember this is a toy car, not a necessity. Anyway, good luck!
