Default Front seat removal airbag light on now

Hello all,

So I had to remove the front seat (2024 rs3) to try and modify the foam. I removed the metal support rods inside the bottom bolsters to reduce pressure on my hip. Long story short I watched some videos that emphasize on waiting 20-30 min before disconnecting the airbag plug... I probably did not wait that long. After I reassembled the seat and plugged everything in, now the car is throwing everything at me.

Airbags off, proximity, park assist, tracking control, bla bla bla...

Is this an Audi thing, I checked the seat heater resistance its 3.5 ohms, so nothing was damaged there. Is there some other module or sensor in the seat cushion that may cause this or I simply needs a VCDS tool to remove the codes?

Thanks

If you unplugged the battery for a decent duration it'll light up like Christmas tree. Have you driven it at all after the reassembly? The lights should go off after a few feet of driving.

Other option is to scan with OBD11 or similar and see why the lights are on, but likely just due to battery disconnect.

No I have not driven it. It kinda freaked me out, I was not ready for Christmas so early. I need to glue the foam back together first anyway. I was going to use friend's VCDS tool to erase the codes after installing the seat back in place. But you are saying that if you disconnect the battery for a long time it will light up as well? Is this an Audi thing?

I mean it can't hurt to scan it, but yes when I installed my JQWerks paddles I unhooked the battery and was welcomed with a Christmas tree as well. Just simply driving it 10 feet or so they all went away for me, hopefully it's the same on your end.

I see... I am in process of assembling the seat back together so I will try to do that afterwards. Quick question, the paddles you installed on a rs3 8y? I don't see that JQWerks has paddles for this model. I sure would like to get taller ones since only my pinky can reach unless I do the 9 - 3 o'clock but its not comfortable.

The B9/9.5 are listed as fitting the 8Y which is what I bought and installed, have had zero issues. Love the tactile feel, some may dislike the magnetic "click" but it adds to the experience.

I drove the car after the seat installation, check engine and other yellow light did not go away, but with the VCDS I was able to erase all codes!

Also thanks for the link for the shift paddles.
