Various noises after the engine is shut off?
My A3 is just over a week old. And I notice the car makes some interesting sounds after I shut the car off. Little electronic hums/buzzes from the engine compartment. What are these noises?

I figured they were normal. But none of the cars I have owned or own now make noises like that.
One guess - oil circulation in the turbo bearing. But what is it??

I assume that the noises you hear are high pitched electronic noises? There will be some clicking noises as well. The throttle body will stay partially open to aid in starting until the car "goes to sleep". I mean when the CAN bus shuts down. You will also notice these sounds in the morning when you unlock or open your door.
As for the noise you hear after the engine shut off, that's most likely the secondary coolant pump that keeps circulating coolant until a certain temp is reached. This prolongs turbo life.
Hope this helps

I've always wondered what is going on as well... like specifically what is the car doing. We have a prius as well (POS) and it makes all these types of noises too, but its the ABS system priming itself. On the Audi, this def is not brake related.

my guess for the noise when you open the front door, for a cold start - is the fuel pump prep for a start. usually after parked overnight in a garage and first time starting in the morning.
I also heard the oil/coolant pump for the turbo - like an old turbo timer that kept the engine running. But also crackling from the exhaust (muffler/heat shields) after a "hot" run....
