Default Broken rear seat release cable A3 Cabriolet

I have one rear seat down but the release cable for the other seat has broken.
Does anyone know how to get the rear seat down manually, given the release cable (in the trunk) is broken?

I can't find any info on how to manually get the seat latch released on a Cabriolet

Hi Greg your private message inbox is full — my second reply to you cannot go through until some space is cleared. Hoping you’ll receive an email notification on this. Please send me a PM once cleared.

Talk soon!

Greg, do you have any advise on this? I have the same issue on my A5 cabriolet. Release lever not working on rear left seat and can’t figure out how to open it any other way

My inbox is empty ??

Sadly, all I can tell you is that where the cable attaches to the seat latch it's probably broken off. After trying every type of homemade tool, I have realized it just can't be unlatched.
I spoke to the dealership and a few independent Audi service people. They all said they didn't have any idea how to release it if it's broken where the cable attaches.

You can contact me directly if you want at: gregdpinch@icloud.com

Thanks!

I just can’t believe this. I imagine you and others share my disbelief. After spending significant time on this I just can’t believe that Audi has left us no choice but to just leave it or otherwise take a 3” concrete drill and exact outright demolition unto the thing.

This stinks. Hoping for a magic trick to come along.

Best,
David
