Default XM radio problems and finger pointing...

After my trial period and then 1 yr subscription expired on my factory-installed XM radio, the radio was deactivated by XM. I drove around for a few weeks without it and then decided I'd bite the bullet and renew again. Paid my fee and they told me it would be reactivated in 20 minutes. Never happened.

So I called the next day. Same thing. I called twice the next day. No luck. Tried refreshing on the web. Nothing. I get the Preview channel just fine and the radio works fine in all other respects. The Audi dealer says its an XM issue. I tried 3 more times to get my radio activated, but XM technical support is non-existent - just a bunch of minimum wage scripted phone handlers whose main job seems to be pushing new radios and plans.

After 10 days, a dozen phone calls, web requests for tech support, I finally gave up and forced them to cancel my account and refund my money. The icing on the cake was after canceling my account, I was offered a "special" deal on a home XM radio. Too much.

Default "pushing new radios and plans"...it's all about new subscribers

all too common....same experience w Cingular wireless. I've never seen a bunch of people so good at changing the subject....from my problem to their objectives.

Default sorry to hear that.

I've been crazy lucky with XM. My trial period has not run out and I got the car last march. 9 months. pretty much listen to the bbc and the verge 52.
