Why can't they bring the S3 to the U.S? I want one so bad.

VF-Engineering recently brought one to our facility for baseline testing before installing their VF-Engineering GT2871R RSS-20 turbo kit onto it. Sprint Blue with black alcantara seats is just the perfect combo IMHO. Of course, here are some pictures for proof. The car originally came from Mexico. :-)

They will, the MKVI GTI-R will have Haldex AWD and the S3 K04 engine. Looking forward to it.

Default When does it arrive in US? MKVI GTI-R will have Haldex AWD and the S3 K04 engine

I don't see any mention of it on the VW website.

I would really rather have the quality of the Audi S3 over the VW. Alternatively, if only I could wait for the 2010 S4 in one year.

Default How did they register a Mexico car in the US?

Who do we need to pay off, to get one of these S3 registered in the US?

But will it be DSG? That is a deal killer.

Default it is a mexico car. The car was delivered from MX to San Antonio, TX where Delius@VF picked it up

He then drove it from San Antonio back here to Southern California. It will go back to Mexico after being fitted and tuned with the RSS-20 kit, unfortunately.

Default I have had both, and while the B7 had better materials than my MKV GTI, the B8 does not......

And for quality, lol, same parts, different badge. Same chance of them braking. Its the people who are badge snobs that would not consider the GTI-R because it wasn't an Audi S3.

Audi/VW takes months after US bound cars hit the shores to update their sites, don't expect anything there until it is already in dealer showrooms.

Look at vwvortex.com in the mkvi forums to find more information, or autoweek, or any of dozens of magazines that have published exactly what I said.

Default From the looks of things, it probably will be DSG only. I love DSG so I don't mind. But....

Both should be offered.
