What kind of camera do you shoot your A3 with?
Is it just me or are there 3.9 million point-n-shoot digi cams out there? Shooting a car is tricky business and I am very interested in what all of you choose to use for your forum shots. I looked for hours and finally settled on the Panasonic Lumix FX100K. 12.2 megapixels and the LEICA Vario-Elmarit DC lens appear to be a good combination for the type of work we would all do.
Every A3 shot I have shared with you guys was done with a 3.2 megapixel Canon Powershot from 2003! It was time to move the quality up a bit...

My girl wants to party all the time.

Re: that's why boki cries at night, ...
Boki, nice shot of the R32. I had one of those Nikon FTN's way back when! Some collection! I barely find time to shoot anything these days

It's not the camera, it's the photographer.
Most of my shots are from my Nikon Coolpix 5700. It's old (for a digital), but physically it's great. If you want a point-and-shoot, look for a little Canon Elph with image stabilization.

I love that old saying.
But it only applies to a point, and less so with digital.
Unless you don't give a hoot about IQ.
Case in point....
One image is shot with my SLR and the other is shot with my Ricoh P&S (who btw makes some damn nice P&S cameras when it comes to IQ). You tell me which is which... I don't think you'll have trouble figuring it out.

A better camera won't do anything for your technique, composition, etc... that I agree with.

It's the photographer, and the camera, and the LIGHT. - you didn't do the Ricoh justice there...
I have a Nikon D3 and a Ricoh GX100, and formerly a GRD, and I have to agree, the Ricoh does a very nice, if largely unheralded - job of taking photos for a compact.
I think I liked my GRD better than my GX100, but since I accidentally destroyed my GRD I decided to give the GX100 a try. Either way, it's the ONLY pocketable camera with SLR-like control in manual mode (again I preferred the dual dials of the GRD vs the dial/toggle combo on the GX100).
But in the end, the light probably makes more difference than anything if you can manage slower shutter speeds...
