Default Thinking about trading my TT in on an A3

My financing is set, and it's time to start shopping! I'm looking for something a little bigger and more practical than me TT was, the A3 just seems like a natural fit. One question, does the Sky Roof retract? Or does the glass just tilt up? I'm driving about 100 miles to check this one out Saturday, as it seems to have everything I want:

Can anyone make out what packages it has? HID's are not standard on the A3, correct?

Any insight you guys can give me is appreciated!

Default open sky: front pops & tilts, rear is stationary.

The model pictured (if I'm 100%) is an 06 sports package. (sport seats, paddle shifting)

Also has homelink & heated power seats.

Aww man, I was hoping for some sliding action on the roof! Good eye on the heated seats.

Think 20k is a fair price? I'll try to get title/taxes and the 35,000 mile service included.

Default HIDs weren't std. in 2007, that's for sure.

Which is ridiculous on a car priced like this, Audi!

And on Open Sky, the front section retracts rearwards about 1/2 - 3/5ths of the way back.

OpenSky does slide like a normal sunroof. The rear is stationary.

Default 3-year-old, non-s-line for 20K?

New car price isn't much more than that! I say no way, bad deal.

I paid 33K CAD (before tax) for a new, fully-loaded version this year. That works out to about 27K USD.

I'd bargain for around 16K, with full CPO.

Just my 2 cents...

Sunroof opens, but up and back as opposed to contained within the roof. Some folks have had no probs, others have all kinds of probs. Search the forums. I realize you don't have a choice (like me) if you want this car, (CPO?) but something to think about. If the dealer won't go down on price, try and negotiate the CPO warranty and service if available. Heated seats, homelink, nice. Can't tell on the BT or headlights, but at least no horrendous tape deck! Looks like you have the autodimming mirror, and maybe auto wipers/headlights - a huge option IMHO. Car looks great! Best of luck to you.

Default I tend to agree with divo_2.0T re: price

According to every word in both spoken and print media, the auto industry is suffering from a complete lack of new and used car sales. A quick KBB on this car came in at $21250 retail and as low as $13500 for trade (good trade was $15k even). Depending on how long that car has been sitting on their lot probably will give you insight into how much they paid to get it - the more recent, I suspect the less they got it for. Especially if it came from an auction.

Pricing aside, it looks great - and if it's got HID, then it has every option I'd want.

Not sure if this means anything to you - I'm offering it as reassurance: I've got 50k on my '06 3.2 and, although I tend to flip cars at least every 2 years, I have no intention of giving this one up. It has everything I want/need in a car. In comparison, I was tired of my brother's TT by the end of a long weekend.

Default Nope--it's an 06 Premium Package--the electric driver's seat is the giveaway.

The Premium Package includes the Convenience Package which gets you the Homelink and Auto/Coming Home headlights.
