Default Steering wheel controls for those w/aftermarket head units. Anyone in Orange County?

PAC makes interfaces to allow integration.
I bought the generic kit for vw/audi in the summer of 2005 when I did my stereo project. It didn't work.

PAC came out with an updated product this week. However it's not for the A3.

From Pac:
We didn't get in an A3 during testing, but the CAN id's for power modes and SWC were between the A6 and A4 were the same so I could only assume the same with the A3. We didn't test it so I couldn't add it in the application guide.

I spoke with Sam and explained that a few A3 owners are interested.
Please email him. It can only help.

They need access to a car for testing or verification. If you know a member of the Audi community in SO CAL (Orange County) that would be willing to test for a free interface, let me know. Or just contact Sam.

http://www.pac-audio.com</a

Default Here's my take on this...

Since the same CAN controls in the steering wheel are used on all the models along with the same radios, I'd say it should work. The only thing that differs on the models is the face plates and plugs. All the hardware is the same. You should give it a shot. I'm almost sorry I'm putting OEM stuff in my car now.

Default judge they need a volunteer in california. so they can design the kit.

I guess it would be around the same pricing as the others. haven't looked yet myself.

I thought they just need someone to see if the current one fits, which it should no problem.
