proclip and nuvi mount

In case anyone is curious, here's how the Garmin Nuvi looks when mounted on the vent using ProClip. I like it a lot because the Nuvi is very accessible (you don't have to reach far) and my suction cup mount kept falling off in the heat.
The only disadvantage is that it covers that vent quite a bit, but you can close that vent entirely and you'll feel more air come out the other ones.
(You can also see my dension ice-linked ipod in the space below)

Re: looks great...
thanks...ProClip was a separate purchase ($60) from their website (proclipusa.com). The mount snaps right onto the vent in 30 seconds.
I'm not running any cables since the rechargeable battery lasts me a few days at a time, I just bring the unit in at night and charge it when needed.
You can run a cable to the left of the Garmin, down the side of the console and back toward the cigarrette lighter under the arm rest, it would be pretty invisible except for the two inches coming out of the garmin and sneaking off to the left side of the console. I'd just rather not deal with any cables when I can and keep it as clean looking as possible.

Here's a closeup of the mount, you can see it inserts into the top of the vent and into the top console seam.

Proclip Question: How clean are the mounts?
I want to use one of the proclips that slips between the radio and the dash. Does it do any permanent damage?
BTW: great looking stuff, I love the nuvi!

Re: Proclip Question: How clean are the mounts?
thanks, no permanent damage on the model I have (I can't speak for the one's that go in other locations), I can snap it right out in an instant and no marks or damage.

Looks very nice, except
the Nuvi's antenna should be horizontal for best reception. Hopefully your mount would allow that.
Does your Proclip mount permit the vent ring to be turned (on/off)? I'd like Proclip to offer an A3 mount that spanned the space _between_ the vents.
