Default i have an A3 loaner for the day

S-line 2.0T DSG (i think).

i like the car a lot, it's quite fun to drive. the new-ness and tight-ness of the car is a stark difference from my '01 B5 S4.

i think i have the DSG or S-tronic or whatever it's called. how do i verify? i believe the 2.0 is either manual or DSG, and there is no slushbox version. is that a correct assumption?

it's the quickest shifts i've seen in awhile, so i think it is DSG. i am becoming a huge believer in that gear box. upshifts are actually entertaining, and downshifts are even more fun now!

you guys are lucky! thanks for listening. also, is there anything that i should know about that the a non-owner should check out? launch control, etc etc?

Default You are correct. DSG or manual gearbox. DSG is AMAZING.

I love watching the rpm needle jump instantly and precisely when you tap the levers, and it's almost impossible to feel the shift.

Default 2nd. I had a loaner A3 about a month ago and it was a blast to drive...

To the point that I've benn looking for info and good priced ones to have it as a daily commuter. That DSG tranny is awesome.

That's what sold me... I was going to get a Mini Cooper JCW, but that DSG is too good to pass up!

Default So much fun

I got a DSG loaner awhile back, and it felt twice as fast as my 2.0T. Then I realized I was in Sport and redlining every shift through 35mph traffic... Now that I'm no longer commuting 100mi/day I think I'll learn to love my clutch again...

Default no 3rd pedal, must be DSG/S-tronic. what a silly name "S-tronic."

at least DSG sounds more descriptive, w/ a certain amount of prestige.

the s-tronic name just sounds like another lame slushbox

Default sports mode is nice, as it'll keep the gear entering a turn. and it'll downshift while coming to a

light. stuff that i do w/ my 3rd pedal on my car, but fun to see the computer rev matching.
