I'm creeping up to that mark now so was just curious.

Mine just rolled over 75k; the high cost of replacing the timing belt, etc. is killin' me.

how long do you think you will keep your car after the 45k service?

Default No damage yet...still haven't had it done. Estimates for the belt,

water pump, serpentine belt, new tensioners, etc. have been about $1400 from several dealers. That's on top of the $400 for the rest of the 75k service - oil/filter, air filter, cabin air filter, and plugs.

Kinda steep, but I wouldn't own an American or Japanese car just to get lower svc costs :P

I spoke to a local (non-dealership) mechanic at a service shop specilizing in German vehicles and he said the timing belt on our A3's is supposed to be good for 105,000 miles. I'd call the dealership or Audi of America directly.
