Default Interesting.

Wonder if driveline makes any difference? I know it's possible to shade outcomes by popping the clutch at such;-)

Default Wait, what...

Are they bringing a 2.0T quattro here? I'm a bit out of the A3 loop, but they may suck me back in if they bring 2.0T quattro. So is this true? *excited

Default I think sales of the current R32 are now doing OK.

in the last 2 months they have sold 860 units or so, and around 3000 of the 5000 are now sold.

Granted they added incentives in the last few months - but given the market, so did every other manufacturer - on virtually every model. The R32 incentives were relative peanuts in that context.

Whether or not it would have sold any better with a manual , I don't know. (are STi's flying off the lot , for example ?)

Had there been a choice - I would have probably bought a stick version - but now having had an R32 for 6 months, I now really like the DSG. Its as close as any automatic gets to being a manual, imo.

For me it was between an A3 3.2 or an R32 (I had a VR6 jetta before) and besides being cheaper, the R32 was(is) a far more 'emotive' car to own. If for no other reason - the stock exhaust noise.

Assuming the economy doesnt go off a cliff - those 5000 R32's ought to be virtually all gone by the end of this model year - just like the previous model.
