Default BTW this thread was not started to hate or bash any tuner company....

The reason why i posted this thread is everyone seems to want to do the chip mod first, witch in my oppinion is not the smartest tactic on modding these cars. New modders need to understand that all chips are not created equal although the outcime of power may be similiar. I think people should choose an exhaust system, an intake and any other hardware they would like to install on there cars before choosing a software. The bottom line is this, not all software will work perfectly with all hardware, unless offcourse you are able to adjust the software to work in conjuction with your hardware.

Default I understand your bitterness Dave, but i too paid $1000 for my APR before it was all said and done ,

and i too was not happy! So all im trying to do is make the public aware of these problems as you are too and hopefully the new modders can make an educated decision on there own!

Default Re: PCV CEL?

yup that was the code

I realize you cant blame a mechanical failure on the software always.

but, from my perspective: I drove the car 20,000 miles without one CEL showing up - perfect operation, always

got chipped about a month ago, and have thrown 6 CEL's.

I am going to get the latest readings done tonight, so I will keep everyone posted. Keith at APR thinks it is not the PCV valve, but something else (fuel pressure "something" just before the rail)

anyhow, once I get these codes tommorow, Keith at APR is gonna help me come up with a game plan.

Default I am expecting to be the same shortly

i love the way the car is driving
i think the rattles can be fixed.... so I am not worried

and I think Keith at APR has a solution that will work for me...........

but as stated on earlier threads, even with CEL's there is no boost leak - so all the power is still there and I love it!

Default Right but again, you didn't give APR much to work with, as you were unwilling to flash to a

different file. Not to mention, the beta was designed to push the fuel pump close to the limit, which has been a disclaimer to anyone getting the beta program from day 1.

Default Just out of curiousity, what was your peak boost level with APR stage 2 vs. REVO stage 2?

I don't have a boost gauge.

Default They're both the same, except APR can run an additional 10 degrees of timing because

of the richer fueling.
