You say the new MC is too refined?
I dumped my 2004 because as fun as it was, it was so cheap feeling compared to my Audi's. So I bought the A3, a world of difference. Much more refined than the Mini.
So i don't understand why you are looking at Audi and BMW with that reasoning.
