I've been riding for a while. I sold my bike about 4 years ago.
I keep paying extra to keep the "M" on my dl. And it may finally pay off. I may get back into the motorcycle game. It's fun, but is very dangerous.
Is there a helmet law in Cali?
There isn't here in PA. Can you believe that!
How boring were the classes?!
ZZzzzZZZzzzZZ!

That would be a tough decision....
to wear a helmet or not. On a warm day, nothing beats feeling the wind in your face and hair, but nothing beats wearing a helmet when you crash.
Yes, we do have a helmet law in CA and I'm wearing a FF Arai. It has already become second nature and I miss something when I drive the cage (just like I miss the feeling of a seat belt when I'm riding).
For me as a novice, the MSF class was very informative, extremely helpful, and fun too. For a veteran like you, even the experienced rider class might be boring, but I would not be surprised if even a veteran would still learn some new tricks there. The class is definitely an easy way to get the DL, as it waives the riding test and only requires the written examn. So, I had the M1 before even owning a bike.

Not so tough a decision for me
I was involved in MC accident Dec. 11. My head/helmet was the first thing to hit the pavement.
The helmet did it's job. The only real injury was a fractured scaphoid bone in my left wrist; a result of my hand being jammed against the handlebar before I went airbourne.
