Power Mods for the 90 2.8
I want to get more from my car. I want to stay NA, already have a friend pushing me to turbo, no thanks. I haven't been able to find anyplace that sells any kind of CAI for this car, exhaust kits or anything aftermarket for that matter. I have a cousin who is my mechanic, so any kind of mods would be great, I just need some suggestions and some place to start for parts.

Welcome to a world of disappointment. The truth is, There are not a lot of reasonably priced N/A upgrades for the 12v V6 that really make a lot of power for the money: IE: http://store.034motorsport.com/aah-a...stage-120.html
350bucks for 12 HP... Not that great in my book. I have a v6 90, and i recently pulled the engine and swapped in a 1.8t from an A4. buying a donor car made it very cost effective.

if you are skilled with your hands and tools, gasket match heads on the intake and exhaust side. port and polish intake manifold, bore out throttle body, get rid of the "cobra head" adapter on T.B. and install a tight radius 90 degree silicone elbows with silicone intake plubming, bore out TB (and do a 4 to 3 MAF conversion if applicable) also Velocity stalk your Air box, also you can build a set of AFC heads with AAH cams (AAH has a bit more aggressive cams) also light weight I5 20V flywheel with 60-2 sensor and a CQ clutch and pressure plate...
but yeah, no bolt on go fast stuff... unless you want to grab another engine like an I5 20vT or the 1.8t, or a 4.2l V8 :-D

stock flywheel is 29.5lbs
steel light weight I5-20v 60-2 is about 19.5
aluminum flywheel from 034 is about 10lbs +/-
im running the 19.5 (which i dont think 034 carries anymore, but i would call them) i dont know how the 12v v6 would behave with an aluminum flywheel

Hey, i have ALOT invested in my 90's B4 and still disapointed:
272 cams with lightweight lifters
gasket match ported intake and exhaust
bored out TB
silicone intake with k&n and deshrouded MAF
fitted B5 headers(pita)
9.5lbs alu. flywheel with race pressure plate(That made a big diff. but you do have to ajust the way you drive a bit...hevyer and faster on the throttle. I like it)
All front alu pulleys with A/C delete
034 ajustable fuel regulator(vacuum unpluged i'm running 5.5bar)
EGR delete
If i get 200hp i'm lucky
And that's just the engine, imagine what i did to the rest of the car.....lets just say i paid it 800$ and final cost to date is 18 000 $
Next step is 415cc injectors and supercharger....if that does'nt wake it up everything is comming out and going V8 route
Have fun!!!
