Default CQ Project Blog

Hello All,

A couple weeks/months ago I was asking about some things to look over in a car that has been sitting for 5 years before attempting to start. I'm getting ever closer to that time and will hopefully be attempting to start on my next trip north.

The blog address is:
Davescq.wordpress.com

I've definitely left some open questions in the posts that I'm guessing some folks who have been around these cars longer than I have would know the answers to. Feel free to provide any and all comments/feedback.

Thanks!

Related to this project, one of the problems is a bad clutch slave cylinder.

Browsing online, there are about 4 or 5 manufacturers, anyone have any experience buying this part, good or bad? or general info/tips on these manufacturers? I see:

FTE - usually the more expensive one...
Sachs
Meyle
Dorman
Beck/Arnley

Thanks!

Great, are they a generally a safe bet? Do you have a couple preferred manufacturers you usually go to? With so little info on parts sites, I'm trying to figure out how people distinguish good products from bad.
