White smoke?????????
Car hasn't been running for a while. I turned it on in the garage to warm it up and I see white smoke coming out the tail pipe. Even after 20 minutes of running it still occurs.
Also when I accelerate the engine and let go of the gas peddle when it decelerates a strange noise comes out of the motor in the distributer area.
Can someone please enlighten me with your knowledge.
Thanks

Re: 1991 90q20v
White:coolant, white w/blueil, black:fuel.
Is the coolant low?
Does the oil look like a chocolate milkshake?
Does it run bad?
Any of these would indicate a bad head gasket, etc.

Re: Wrong, white "smoke" is oil, White "steam" is water. The "blueish" tint you speak of...........
Howdy! I've never seen oil burn white before, usually a bluish tint from the tailpipe. White smoke/steam is burning coolant from what I know, though that's easy to tell just by the stink. Black is gas. When a car that is buring oil rolls by the house I surely see a blue cloud, and in VT that's quite often
