colorado coupe

I was kicking around the idea of dropping a TDI or audi diesel in to a 90. I have a coupe that's getting to the end of it's engine life. 300,000 + miles. Has anyone heard of anyone doing this? Any comments please.

The TDI is a great motor and easily modded to be faster than a stock gasoline engine.

Here's my project. It's a 1991 Audi 80 Quattro; built from a shell. I haven't updated the thread in a while. Intercooler's installed in May and it runs excellent. My best mileage was last tank @ 45mpg. I've driven it daily since September.It's an mTDI with an IP from a VW LT 1997. I lock the rear diff and wail through the woods sometimes with it, dodging trees and stuff.lol I built it as an armageddon car; nothing extraneous; manual rack from a VW Fox etc.

Thanks guys for the links. Looks like I'm going to drop in on this project. Breathe some new life into my coupe. I'm going to fix all cosmetics fist since it still runs ok. Then next spring pull the engine and go for it.
