S2-RS2 coupe convert spotted way back between 1995 and 97' in Suttons Bay Mi...any info?
I was thinking about this the other day. On a Sunday morning I walked out of my house and there were the regular church goer cars lined up and down my street, Id never owned an Audi and was just beginning to take an interest in them. there was a black coupe with audi ring decals across the side, big wheels and Huge brembos, big exhaust pipe, full gauge cluster, and If memory serves, 5 point belts and recaro's, and after market spoiler. I wanted to wait and talk to the owner but ended up leaving to wherever I was going. Another Sunday I came outside during church to see a yellow Audi coupe full race car sitting on the street. Basically the same, big wheels/brakes, everything. A total track car, hood pins. Crazy cars. Ive always wondered what the story was on these, anyone here know anything about this? I had no idea at the time what I was looking at or I would have waited for the driver to come out.

you think he has a good memory? I might shamefully have him beat.

I remembered this photo (OK, one fuzzy recollection of a pic, and this is what I found in the Winter 1998 quattro quarterly) and happened to have my binder right here. During that time period there were a couple of early 20vT build-ups running around WI/MI. Both had Reiger kits on them if memory serves. I remembered one being black and the guy's name is right on the tip of my tongue but I can't recall at the moment. I seem to recall it was Greek sounding, but I just can't remember. It wasn't your average "Joe" or "Tom". I remember him being active in the quattro club back then and may have even been head of that chapter. From what I recall early on it didn't run right (at least that's the story that circulated on the 20v.org mailing list at the time) but that may have eventually been sorted out with options from tuners like 034efi.

so that definitely looks like the car. Thanks for the pic man. I would love to know who this was
It would be cool to ask them if they had another yellow car and if they were around Suttons Bay at that time.

check this out! Found an Autoweek from 1998 today, thumbing through and low and behold

This is from the April 6, 1998 issue....sadly, the one commemorating Dr. Ferdinand Porsche, who had passed the previous week. Is that the car you'd seen? That's in Michigan, and I'm almost certain belonged to Francois Fallopa (sp?) at the time.
I believe he's also the one with the 100S Coupe` for sale on the audifans classifieds right now.
