I now understand how people become sexually attracted to their engines. This thing looks f-in sweet! I can't wait to bring it all together with some big-red Porsche brakes.

Really need to fix that ignition cover. Maybe I should get it running first.
Also installed the new steering rack...what a pain. Cleaned up the bay a tad. Should I paint it black?

Looks like a fun project. I did a turbo conversion on an 86 900-turbo/16V, and though it only took me about 2 weeks I did not have to deal with the same things you are here. The main engine harness is all you need to swap on that car (asside from the engine turbo & intercooler obviously), everything else just plugs right in... It was like they made early n/a 16V cars to accept a turbo engine easily.

Been way too long since my last update I know, but I relied on the assistance of a couple friends to help me with some of the suspension work (bushings) so I couldn't go as quickly as I would have liked. Not complaining - just making excuses.
The good news is I finally finished up the suspension and will test-fit the B4 fenders on the updated front-end suspension tomorrow. Hopefully it was worth the effort. Sometimes I think working with a B4 from the get-go would have been easier since the front end will essentially be one by the time I'm done.
With all the suspension work done I hope to get the engine in this weekend.
Installed the wastegate (anyone got torque specs on this?), heatshield and downpipe. Should I secure it after the engine is back in? Also, was applying a clear-coat on the heatshield a mistake?
Got the B4 front-end suspension installed including control arms, ball-joints, strut housings, mounts and sway-bar. Nothing torqued to spec just yet.
Sub-frame and bushing work was a bear of a job. Having never done it before I'm not sure I ever want to again.
Fuel rail installed

Been waay to long since an update, but...big news. I got the engine in!!! What a bugger, first time for everything
Resurfaced and installed Fidenza flyhwheel and stage 2 Spec clutch
Woohoo engine is in! Not an easy task given my driveway, but with some beers, and dowel pins we got it done.
Currently working on a BBK with Porsche Boxster Calipers, so frustrating but so satisfying
