Default Ignition Switch

Hello folks,

I've been having intermittent problems with starting my 1993 90 CS and I've come to the conclusion that it's the ignition switch. SO, I'm gonna replace it today and was wondering: do I really have to take off the steering wheel/airbag? Also, if there are any tips or tricks I should know about, do tell. From the research I've done, the wheel removal seems kinda consistent; but I'd like to avoid letting this car raise my blood pressure yet again, and would rather not mess with it.

Thanks in advance for any help.

you dont need to do that! all you need is to get the cluster out... and for that the wheel can stay in place :-)

Scrape off the paint on the two allen screw holding the switch in place. Don't back them out all the way or you will lose them. When sliding the cluster out don't get impatient. You may have to work it out as the dash may have deformed some over time. Good luck.
