CQ engine swap
Hey guys
I was thinking about putting a Volvo inline-5 turbo engine in a quattro coupe. This engine is from Volvo 850's and s70's. This engine is much more powerful and should be approx. the same size as the 5 cyl. engine that came on the CQ's to begin with. Does anyone have an opinion on this? would it work?
THanks

Uhh... no.
Volvos are transverse. Real Audi's are longitudinal.
Good luck trying to bolt the Volvo engine to the Audi transmission.
If you are after horsepower at any cost, you should start with a Audi 4.2 V8 out of a B6 S4 and bolt on a supercharger.

Nope.
When was the last time the MKIV chassis "Audi's" won anything?
All I see is them getting their asses kicked in Deutsche Touringwagen Masters and the 24hrs. of Nürburgring.
If transverse was so good, ABT wouldn't have to drop a 4.2 V8 and make their TT rear-wheel-drive.

Look who's calling the kettle black, when did your ride win anything?
Your logic is as fractured as his. I agree with your indignation over his comments but to single out an Audi model such as a CQ for derision is as bad as his knackered comments, you are better than that.

TT is built on the New Bettle platform, hence not true Audi.
Both have a Haldex drive train, again, not Torsen like a true Audi. I have no idea what platform the A3/S3 was built on. My guess would be the MkIV Golf.
