Default Audiless...

Well, it's official. For the first time since I was 17, I am without an Audi. My wagon was towed away for restoration (head gaskets, among other problems) a few weeks ago, and my coupe drove off today with its new owner (you all know him), and I am left here, without an Audi to call my own. That's okay though, my 'new' car is a Silver 2004 BMW 325xi. Had to keep the AWD bug satisfied.

Thoughts on the BMW?.... I'll be getting another Audi next time. I'll be back.

Default uh, I don't know, I sold a lot of quattros to BMW owners. As far as the iX

goes, it's almost as capable as and isn't much different than a Bronco engineering wise, except Ford didn't put the axle through the oilpan.

Default Re: Audiless...

I bought a '00 328i 5spd a few months back. Shifts are nowhere near as smooth as my '88 80, the clutch is numb and it can't hold an idle when cold (thank VANOS technology), but the inline six is a special beast when unleashed, and I love the short front overhang styling, the agressively flared fenders, and deep wheel wells.

Also, when I was car shopping, I couldn't find an A6 with a 6-spd, or an S4 without a salvaged title. Maybe it's just my area.

My bro's a BMW guy, so I got swayed. But, I'm keeping both because I like having a cheap, reliable, unique, clean-looking car that everyone refuses to believe is an '88!

Default Good point about the transfer case

I have a 73 Bronco and when the transfer case on the wife's 2003 325iX needed replaced, our mechanic stated it was comparable to the Bronco. I like the BMW, But enjoy driving both of my CQ's more.
