Part of me really wants...
...to rent a shop in the EU for a week, dismantle the cheapest S or RS2 I can find and load it into a crate. The hard part would be converting a 90 into a RS2 for a legal VIN.
Another part of me just wants to stick with a eS2 and build a B5 RS4.

Snag the vin off an A6 avant and register it... no one in the US knows any better
Except for the few enthusiasts that are around. Regardless I still think if someone had an A6 avant (say a 95?) and swapped vin tags no one would ever even question it. Hell swap em with a 95.5 S6 avant and the motors will even kind of resemble one another (in a judge/smog shops eyes)...

Because he knows he can make twice the money parting it as opposed to selling it whole
and IIRC European rules are very different as to what constitutes a totaled car and what it would take to return it to legal status.
