I have posted here before the winter when I was working on the car about this very same problem. I got the car timed okay everything is on TDC the car will turn on and idle for 2 sec and just die! fuel delivery is there spark is there! what to look for? mind you I got the intercooler and turbo piping all off! maybe that would cause it?

Default Yup, turbo engines do not like vaccuum leaks

You are creating the Mother of All Vaccuum Leaks by disconnecting the intercooler and all the related tubing. Even a slight vaccuum leak confuses this type of engine, so w/out all the stuff in place it is all confused.

Reconnect and I bet it runs...

Default you mean it's just breathing straight into the throttle body, no turbo, no CIS airflow?

it will never run that way... the air has to flow past the CIS airflow meter, otherwise it thinks no air at all is going into the engine.

or do you mean you have the turbo piped right into the throttle body? that should minimally run but the ECU mapping will be too rich because air density will be very different as it sucks hot turbo air...
