The V8 I recently bought for my daily driver Has so far been a pretty decent car (after I fixed what it needed). 270k on the clock and some odd metallic brick red/brown color I've never seen. I'm told it used to belong to someone at Blaufergnugen. I'm also told it has been chipped. Does anyone know if there is an easy way to verify this? would they have marked the ecu on the outside perhaps? I've been inside a v8 motronic before so I suppose I could open it and take a look. But I don't want to if I don't have to. I thought the car seemed to have a bit more pep than other v8's I've driven. But that doesn't mean much.

You've already answered that one.. the only what to tell is to look at the chip and hope it's tagged, otherwise you'd need a chip reader and a way to read the buffer.

That said. I still have ABT chips for the 3.6 avail.

I picked up a couple MPG, and definite seat-o-pants acceleration.
