Default tires size

I was recently given, nice set of tires, but the tech refused to put them on . reason ? My old ones were 205/60/15. The Godsent ones 205/75/15. That gives different wheel speed due to the higher tire wall ( and thus outside tire way larger diameter) as tech said and will rack your differential. True or false ? Can I at least exploit them as rear ones only since the car is no quattro ? It's 200 turbo 1990 no q. The old manula for 5000 s for instance mentions the highest one 175/70. Any input on this re; differential sensitivity ?

..."rack your differential"?

The differential only cares that the same size tire is on both sides, you can't use a different size on the left and the right. That is a pretty big difference in tire diameter though as seen in the link.

Default If your car is FWD why would it matter?

Did your mechanic know it was a FWD car not AWD?

The mechanic quoted the different wheel speed with the larger diameter- and yes its way larger diameter. He didn't know actually if it's AWD or FWD - just brought the tires with the old rims to swap. The rear obviously wouldn't matter I guess, but in my post I was asking if anybody managed to wreck his FWD auto differential that way....

Not an issue as long as same size tire is on left as right....

Default you'll be fine as long as they fill fit and not rub the strut towers and wheel wells

you'd have to mount em and try it out before you know for sure, but they are about %10 larger, which is a quite significant amount.

5thanks you all, I will give it a try. Already swapped two of them from the original rims and will try them on the car, If they don't fit i've lost Cdn 50. Too lazy to measure before ...oh well))
