Default starting problems

hey guys,
i seem to be having a problem starting my car.
after long periods of sitting outside, the car seems to take a long time to start. either i hold down the ignition for a long time and let the car slowly rumble to life.. or try to give it a quick start then put my foot on the gas to keep the engine from stalling. my battery is still fairly new.. i just got it a year ago. could this be the starter?

I had similar problems with my car. Does it start fine first thing in the morning? And then when you drive it and let it sit a while, it refuses to start? If that's what's happening, it's your fuel pump or maybe your check valve on top of the pump.

Mine is doing the same thing. Sometimes on cold mornings when I go to start it it will simply not start up until the 5th or 6th try and only then does it chug a little bit until a couple seconds later when it finally kicks in.

Sounds like a problem with the cold start valve.

Problem with the cold start vlave or you're losing pressure in the fuel system while it sits. Check for any fuel leaks from engine to fuel tank. If none the check valve on the fuel pump could be bad or the fuel injectors are leaking. To check the injectors, pull them out with the lines connected, bridge the pump to run constantly and see if fuel comes out the injectors. If so replace the injectors. If not, while you have them out, push up on the sensor plate and check the spray pattern of each injector. Could also be the fuel accumulator.
