Thanks.

I am uncertain how the dash assembly thing works. Reading this post I get the impression that the dashboard consists of a leather/plastic cover which is connected to a solid dash structure via a number of screw/bolts which can be removed with a 4 mm allen. If I remove these screws and a few items like speaker grates I can slide the cover a bit which will give me access to more screws which hold in the trim piece I am trying to remove.

Is that correct?

Do the speaker covers just pop off - do I need anything special to remove those?

As always thanks and any advice appreciated.

You need to remove the dash pad / or the glovebox & knee bolster on the drivers side from the car to gain access to the remaining bolts that hold the trim in-place. Just depends you want to work from the bottom up or the top down...

Outstanding - think I will try and go from the bottom up.

I have been told that the early model 89 200's have a different attachment mechanism for the dash trim than the later models - do you have any insight into that? As I recall my 200 was about number 3,500 off the line that yr so I assume that makes it an early model?

Any help appreciated.
