Default Just Picked Up A 88 Audi 5000 Any Ideas??

I recently picked up a black 1986 Audi 5000 turbo quattro cs. Since this is my first car and am going to be drivng it to school I really would like to customize it inside and out any ideas would really help me out. A few ideas i had in mind were to tint the tail/brake lights, put cargo racks on it ,and plasti diping the wheels and getting a bigger intercooler but i really got stuck there any other ideas would really help me out.

If its running well, go for your life ...

A lot of other bits to check first,
check power steering fluid is correct colour, check all engine & box fluid levels, etc ...

and welcome to the club ..

All the fluids are up to par. The car runs excellent, Except the headlights flicker every now and then which kinda scares me.

Really all you should do to be tasteful is wheels, tint, and stereo on the inside. Under the hood, intercooler, stiffer wastegate spring search 1.8 Bar wastegate spring for Audi 5 cylinder turbo, and theres a mod you can do to the ECU so it doesnt fuel cut. My 200 I used to have had the 1.8 bar chip/spring and man is was a hot rod.

I may sound like a broken record but I just want to throw this out there incase you haven't considered it: If you haven't already done so, before any modding a general tune up is a good idea, even if you think its running well there may still be room for improvement with what you already have there. Check timing, plug color etc. Also, Check all vacuum lines for leaks. Unless all the rubber has been replaced you will probably find one or two. That right there is a potential performance boost.

Still have the CSQ? I've been off this forum but your question, I had to find out. If you do then I'm sure some bugs have come up. Hows it going?

Yes i still have it. Ive just been doing minor cosmetic upgrades(rims, paint, stereo)Ive recently began to smell exhaust in the cabin while driving it so that cant be a good sign. Im always having problems with the window control and door locks, plus i doesn't help that i was recently reversed into in a parking lot but there was very minor damage mostly cosmetic. but for now im just going to attempt to fix the exhaust leak, and continue on. This is starting to become just a side project since ive recently acquired an 2001 Audi A4 1.8t and this has become my daily driver.

Wow color black and in Californiia. No rust? Nice! That's why I asked, the windows and locks is one of many little problems. If you have access to a good soldering iron, heat shrink tubing and a good whole day, the wires going from the door to the frame may need to be extended due to the "German Engineering" shortfalls. I believe they are stretched and also brittle and break. I spent several hours splicing wires to make it longer. It could also be the window motor but I think it is likely the wires, since the main control is the driver side which controls other windows. Remember, summer is around the corner. How's the A/c?
