I saw it advertised on ebay and took a chance. It cost me $90 and claims to gain 23 HP and 13 ft lbs in the 3.6 V8...
Its cheap, and it works. I got a noticeable power gain and I love it... Everyone should buy one... It runs fine with 92 octane and I even got a little more gas mileage (hard to tell right now how much but I think at least 1.5 mpg on a recent trip) If you guys need help busting open your ECU let me know.
In the picture... you see my V8 on the right... ignore the Pontiac please. And thats not me, thats my electronics buddy Joe

I have a hard time buying that an eBay chip is legit... That being said...
I sent the seller an email message to see if they could provide scans of dyno sheets before and after the chip. The only dyno scans/feedback I could find on their website was from a different vehicle. On that car, with the chip an intake, exhaust, etc, the dyno numbers are still near stock, and the car exhibits an odd boost condition in 5th gear. Call me a pessimist, but I need to see hard numbers.

I don't doubt there was a gain. Probably advanced the timing a couple degrees...
This would have accounted for power gains like that. Also could have used a sort of computer-trick to make the car think its running richer than it is. I betcha that things good enough to grab a couple hp & lb ft.
...Besides, for $90, its cheaper than any other modification you're going to get on a V8.

uh.. i cant tell exactly what they installed on that board,i'm guessing jut replaced the chip itself
anyway, it has to be somewhat legit, has to have Audi programming on the chip for the car to run. And with the ease of modifying the earlier mac11, and programs available to modify bmw,Porsche, chevy and a bunch of others using the same 27C series chips readily available for free it doesn't seem like it would be that hard to make a slightly modified v8 chip. Just advance timing a few deg, richen it up a bit via one method or another and you have basically what any NA stock replacement computer chip does.
