Default I do not like car alarms,

so my car thinks im trying to steal it. It has been a slowly increasing problem.

So, in the 1990 200,
It first started about a year ago. A friend called me and said hey man your car is in the parking lot going nuts, then I was heading off to work, decided to leave early see if i could get some windsurfing in before it actually started, but car wouldst start, rolled it down the hill still no go. (thought the batt may have died)
horn and lights everywhere when i go to the bottom and tried to jump it, i killed the horn, and more or less got everything running, put a new ign switch in, mine was on its way out anyway,

everything seemed to be good besides when i would turn the ignition the alarm would go off for maybe 3 seconds then i could start teh car, but with the horn disconnected it was just the warning lights would flash, drove like this for a while now,

she has developed some new habits though. for one, every now and then the warning lights just start going off, she sits for several days, and i look out the kitchen window and the lights are flashing, second she will run through a LONG alarm when i turn the key now, only seems to be when its wet.

so i think I have a short/bad ground that moisture makes worse.

what i want to know, is A advice? and be how can i disconnect this thing? i dont want a car alarm, i leave my keys in the ign, doors unlocked all the time,

thanks
Lucas

The alarm control module is located on a bracket above the glove box, with the alarm "off" disconnect the module.

This PDF may help: http://www.scottnheather.com/audi/alarminfo.pdf

ok that was my first thought was just pull the plug on the whole unit, but then when i looked at the diagrams it appears that the starter relay gets power through there? is that incorrect?

I don't know anything about the audi system but we just had an alarm problem return after a 2 year hiatus on our 99 Subaru legacy. We took it to a local auto electronics shop and they said all they had to do was take apart the alarm module, clean all the dust out and assemble it. We had strange alarm behavior that was similar. Good luck.
