Default Help diagnosing noise and vibration 91 V8Q 5-spd

I have a noise that sounds like a cricket on steroids which is accompanied by a low frequency vibration. As best as I can tell it seems to be coming from underneath the car in the midsection which makes me think it may be the driveshaft carrier bearing. The noise is only present when cruising at a steady speed, accelerating (or decelerating) makes it go away as does shifting to neutral.
The noise has appeared over the last 3-4 days and has gotten pretty audible recently. I will be putting the car on the lift tomorrow to poke around a bit but as always any insight is appreciated, thanks!
Oh BTW 162k on the car.

Default Does the parking brake maechanisim sit over the driveshaft?

Does the parking brake mechanisim sit over the driveshaft?

May not be applicable on a V8, but on a 4kq the parking brake adjuster can get a bit slack, and dangle low enought to just 'tickle' the top of driveshaft under some conditions.

Check exhaust hangers as well. If engine is under load, it can twist the exhaust-rubbing.

Default How much movement in the center support is acceptable?

The rubber looks intact but moves about 1/4" if I put some force on the driveshaft.
Also the rear portion of the driveshaft has some slop and makes a metallic clink noise if moved.
