Heater Core hoses
Hello
In my haste I'm not sure of the Heater Core hose placement
I also replaced the heater core hoses along with the heater core
I did a search but I just want to make sure ..
Does the bottom outlet on the heater core go to the hose to the block
and the top outlet from the heater core go to the pipe to the water pump ...
Thanks In advance
Any pics much appreciated

this is for a 5000 turbo. bottom of photo shows heater core and hose connections. it appears the top outlet connects to the hose that has the heater valve on it....which would be the hose to the block.

heater hoses
Thanks for the replies
Well I figured out my problem
The image on the Left is from a 200 Q
The image on the right is from a 5000 1984 .. the car I replaced the heater core in is a 5000 84
Notice the image on the Left the coolant pipe [#4] coming from the water pump
connects to the top connection of the heater core ..
The image on the right for the 1984 5000 [#4] in the image connects to the bottom connection of the heater core ....
The image for the 84 5000 is wrong... [both images are originally from ETKA] part numbers for the heater core are the same for the 84 5000 and the 200 Q ....443-819-030...
The heater cores are the same so IMO the connections should be the same..
I was experiencing higher coolant temps. in stop and go traffic with the hoses reversed ...gauge was going to the second line past from the middle of the gauge in traffic ....now with the heater hoses in the correct positions ...
The temp gauge barely reads past the middle line of the gauge in traffic ..
Hope this post helps someone in the future ....
