Electronic Diagnostics on the Audi V-8's

Picked up a 1990 Audi V-8 yesterday to add to my fleet and be a project car for me. Car is in remarkable shape as most AZ cars are, with th interior perfect! 169,000 on the clock. A few mechanical things to tidy up, oil pan gasket leak, loose O2 sensor. I have a VAG tool that I use on my 1.8T, and was wondering if a similar electronic diagnostic tool was available of an OBD I Audi? Figure it assist in solving future issues? Much appreciate the insight and I look forward to becoming a more active member in this particular forum. I usually look at the 80/90 and A4 forums as a I have a fully redone 1990 Coupe Quattro and a APR Stage III 2003 A4 1.8T 5spd. I have included a pic of the car. Came with 1995 16" S6 wheels that were in not so good of shape. Swapped'em for my OEM 17" A4 wheels. I personally thought the square spokes compliment the more angled lines of the early V-8's. Car has H&R spings, full stainless exhaust. (sounds amazing) crossed drilled/slotted rotors all around. Bilstein dampers. Will add more pics as I more foward on he car.

Scott Mockry's wonderful website includes a section on V8 engine diagnostics and maybe the tranny stuff too. Connection ports shown HERE.

There's an adapter to use the VAG-COM on the V8q
not quite as useful as on the B6 though I have yet to really dig into it.
The B6 sport wheels look nice on the V8, which exhaust did you go with?

Huh, ok I will contact Ross-Tech about the adapter. In all honesty the prior owner did not know the brand of the exhaust. I will be under the car on Sunday and will take a look for some ID's. The prior owner is going to look into it as well for me as I was curious as well. I will post some pics of it as perhaps one of the forum gurus can ID it based on a visual.....
