I found an 86 i5 10valve quattro. Interior is absolutely terrible, outside could need a few things. It's for about 900 bucks but mechanically in perfect condition. About 140k miles. I find it hard to get replacements parts for the interior so was wondering how much of these older audis are the same with the new A6s? For example, with some modification could I put a whole A6 interior in an Audi 100? How about the suspension parts?

It's probably the most stupid questions you heard but I just keep on wondering how much of these cars are the same (or similar).

'86 is a 5000 in the USA, designated 100 in other markets if I'm not mistaken my '89 parts car has a dark blue interior, power heated seats, $300 complete if you're interested

I think most any Audi 5000/100/200/V8 interior will fit. They're all in the "Type 44" model line. I'm pretty sure the A6 interior would require substantial modification.
