made some tests ...

even if i cant get that light off with vag-com, i can get it off with disconnecting battery negative terminal for like 5 minutes..

if i connect it back and put ignition on, but dont start the engine, check engine light comes back ...
just while ignition is on ..

are some components or sensors with *delayed* checking ?

No codes in Vag-COM.. means no codes. How's the car running? It may be something as simple as a flaky Instrument Cluster (it wouldn't be the first time).

Does the CEL disappear when you start the car?

Unplug the cel wiring and see if it still comes on. If it does you have a flaky instrument cluster. If not your ECU is probably faulty.

The plug is behind the console. Remove both console side panels and the radio to make it easier to find. Black/White wire with a single wire black connector w/violet caps.

If I'm not mistaken (a very rare condition)

The system can be prevented from retaining codes if the fuel pump relay has a fuse in the integral fuse location.

I have a UK car, so a lot of this is reading between the lines. But could it be that what is happening when the power is removed, is the ECU is returning to basic unlearned conditions? Once you have restored the power, and started driving for a short time, whatever is causing the CEL condition occurs.
