Default 1986 5ks cold start problem

I have an 1986 Audi 5000s with a 2.2 l five cylinder engine with 109,000 miles that has a cold start problem, runs great when it starts. Replaced the thermo time switch, the cold start valve, multi-function temperature sensor and the coolant temperature sensor. Haines manual says there is a frequency valve relay that controls the cold start but cannot locate it. Help, I want to get this car running for my college student daughters.

Default Could be leaky fuel injectors...

My car has the same issue. I understand it's somewhat common for the injectors to wear out and **** away the fuel pressure when the car is shut off. That would be my guess.

Need to check Cold control pressure (warm-up regulator pressure) with CIS gauge. Should be about 20psi.

Also the check valve on the fuel pump...that was the cause of my fuel pressure leakdown (along with leaky injectors/seals).

Finally broke down and tore the dash apart and traced the wiring and found that the frequency valve relay is part of the ECM. Was able to find a used one and seems to have solved the problem.
