Default 1983 Audi 5000 Turbo power window switches needed!!!

Please help me!!!! If anyone knows where I can find a set of window switches for my car -- I would be very appreciative. I need the kind w the round male five pin application. Most of the early type 43s had these. I have searched high and low on the web and cannot find them anywhere. Most of these cars have been long since crushed, and they obviously don't make these switches anymore. I have three that are in need of replacement. They work okay for me, but they're cobbled together with rubber bands and are in very dire condition. I'm weary of passengers that won't handle them as gingerly as I. Does anyone know if Volkswagen used a similar application that would work in a crossover? Maybe I'm limiting myself when I only search for "audi 5000 window switch" from that vintage. Someone out there has got to know where a salvage yard is hiding one of these old tanks. PLEASE HELP ME! Also need central lock system vacuum.

Yep, other cars did use similar switches that work. Check this thread for details: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho....php?t=2777163

Good luck on keeping the old beast running!

Default if they are anything like mine

On my 83 5k turbo diesel i have some that are broken too. people told me Mercedes uses a very similar switch. somewhere around here there is a thread/links. do you have the switch that actually sticks up? or is it the rocker one like the guys up above found?

ha if i had bothered to take the time to click the first link i would have saved some time..that was the one im thinking of. my switches are different though. they have a tab in the middle that sticks up. i was able to get creative with some pen springs and glue to make most of them work again. if you have nothing to do some night

I *MAY* have some window switches from my deceased 1984 5000S. Then again, I may have trashed them. I'll check in the next few days and report back. I think that the one that were mounted in the console had round prongs and a lever that protruded so that your finger could actuate the switch.

Default Use a BMW trim ring with your Audi switch, you'll never have to mess w/ them again

Like I mention in the thread linked to above, you use a BMW or Mercedes trim ring, and snap it onto your existing Audi switch, thus keeping the stock Audi 'blade' that sticks out.
