Default Wow, that's the second CGT with the Audi Sport body I've seen for sale recently.

Go figure!?! Where are these rare kits coming from?

I posted this one up here a week or so ago (as seen on VWVortex - no relation, just thought it was kinda cool)

Default i wonder if some flares for a truck could be modified to fit.......

something like bushwakers or some of the universal fit rubber or plastic ones. i would guess the only problem would be finmding the right length so you can cut them down. bushwaker make a nice wide flares.

just thinking.

Default Perry made molds using the original Audi Sport parts from a Coupe Touring car that was here....

In his ad he does say the molds are included with the car. Hope this helps.

Default Re: To be fair, it's *not* a stock coupe..!

<center><img src="http://audisportclassics.tripod.com/coupethumb1.jpg"></center><p>Here's the deal guys,
After my research over the years I can only locate 2 original factory backed road racing FIA Group 2 Audi coupes, the first one resides in Toronto and was restored by a friend of mine who did it for customer Rick Franczack. The second is owned by Frank Beila's father. Frank explained to me his Dad historic raced it in Germany. My car replicates these cars as best as I can. The one in Toronto owned by Rick Franczack was bought from Peter Aschenbrener who raced it in IMSA and Trans-Am in the '80s. Aschenbrener bought it from the original owner and well known LeMans racer Peter Seikel. Seikel was very important in Audi's history, as he brought Audi their first touring car win.(European Touring car Championship) While Franczack was restoring the car in Toronto, I was given the fenders to repair and allowed to create moulds from them. That car originally had the moulds from Germany but they mysteriously disapperaed from his shop in the '80s. I still was missing the spoiler and I found a fellow in Minnesota who built a stock street coupe for fun using the body kit created from a set of moulds a friend of his gave him. Apparently he "found" them in a Buffalo swap meet. (we at racing intelligence believe these are the missing moulds) He advertised that exact white coupe (in the previous posting 1984cgtturbo) for sale in the old Quattro Quarterly. I approached him about the moulds and would'nt part with them but he had a spoiler. I was able now to finish the body. It was an expensive project to create that bodywork. So really, that bodywork all comes from the same car! The Audi 80 sedan 4 and 2 doors raced in the ETCC as well and Audi has painstakingly restored Willi Bergmeister's car for the collection in their warehouse. Please check my website for newly loaded pics of the history of these cars. Sorry about those damned pop ups, I'm a website newbie and eventually get around it, but it's free for now. http://audisportclassics.tripod.com
thanks,
Perry.<ul><li><a href="http://audisportclassics.tripod.com">http://audisportclassics.tripod.com</a</li></ul>
