Default Rear caliper rebuilding questions

Has anyone done this? More specifically, taking apart and cleaning the parking brake mechanism. One of my recently acquired Scirocco calipers has a bum parking brake. I was able to pry out the lever and clean it to make the lever pivot, but the screw inside the caliper will not push back up against the lever actuator. It is stuck in the parking brake applied position. I searched the archives and found a little information. One thread described taking them apart but it sounded like his screw came out readily. Mine does not want to budge. I have already taken out the circlip and tried to pull on the screw to no avail. How can that screw be removed? Any other tips, BTDT, or pointers?

Thanks,

Chris

Try going to a junkyard and experimenting with similar cars. It's always easier to screw up something you don't have to put back together.
