Mid-Ohio driving event registration
Registration for the Mid-Ohio driving event opens March 1. It fills up fast, and from what I understand, if you want to instruct you need to have your application postmarked on March 1. The event is July 4-6. Contact craigliechty@hotmail.com with any questions or if you would like to instruct. Also go to the ACNA Ohio Valley chapter website.
I'll be there with my 86.

I lub your car. upgrading to cq gauges would give you oil pressure
I only say this as you track it and may like some more accurate center gauges along with the oil pressure. Plus they look cool!

You get yer front end set up big fellah? got some toe out? neg camber???
I'd try to get 0.10° (roughly 1/32") of TOTAL toe out in the front, that will still be ok for the street.
What about camber? have the alignment shop max it out, you should have close to 1.5° neg.
Also, sit in the car when they do the final reading, that's how your car is REALLY set up!
What kind of tires are you running? always run the front pressure higher than the back, in fact, the rears should be slightly below the ideal pressure, always measure hot temps as soon as you pull off track!
All this will help reduce the monumental understeer these cars have on the track.
Did you remove the spash sheilds from the front discs?

Right...thanks for the reminder
I'll be there...had to cancel at the last minute two years in a row. I'll keep my fingers crossed that I'll make it this time.
I might have my 4k done in time to bring it...if not, A6 will do ;-)

re: toe-out and neg-camber
Thanks; I've read those tips here before and plan to set the car up for this summer. The car has a real issue with tire wear at the left front at track events, that I think a little toe-out would improve dramatically; and neg camber sounds like a help there too - I assume to reduce the tendency for the tires to roll under - again causing undue wear. I run Victo-Racers on Speedlines at the track, and I typically run a couple more pounds on the front than rear - or both the same, although I hear stories about pumping up the rears to get them to slide out easier when trail braking.

Hope to see you there. . .
I was going to be there last year but my mom died right before. This year I won't miss it; I heard you were there last year but not with the cgt - a couple of my sailing crewmates were there and said that the sailor that sometimes brings a cgt was there - I assume that was you. I believe you were also at Road America 2 or 3 years ago and let me drive your car when I was there with my TT; thanks again - I really do prefer driving the cgt at the track!
