Default if it makes you feel better, i've seen similar done twice....

my sister started my parents car in reverse in the garage. then when the car lurched, she hit the gas. she actually took the entire courner of the garage out. i have know idea why she didn't keep the wheel straight. it was bad. insureance came to the rescue. then, two months later, she did the same thing but only took out the door, track, and about 1 foot of the garage.

another time, my dad had just bought his new jeep. he was so proud of it. it took him forever to find the exact one. it was nice and shiney, he waxed it all the time. well, one day he was following my mother home. she hit the garage door opener and she pulled in the driveway with him right behind. she went straight into the garage. as he was starting to pull in, she clicked the remote to close the door. the door came down on the jeep and took the roof rack off it and messed up the whole top. the lowest panel on the door got taken out as well. dad got the jeep parked and went into the house to a seperate bedroom and didn't come out till the next morning. he didn't say more than a couple words tomom until after the jeep was fixed. man can he hold a grudge.

stuff happens, so don't feel to bad.

Default Let's hope 60 minutes doesn't get a hold of this!

Crappy news. I've lurched a time or two the same way. (Starts new mantra.. use parking brake... use parking brake...)

Default This is why new cars have clutch lockouts....

Can't start the car unless the clutch is pressed down. You can likely retrofit one on older Audi/VWs using the cruise switch at the pedal.

Default I went into the garage at 2mph with a bike still on the roof rack.

Wasn't too bad - thanks to the low speed.

Default at least you reversed the car into the garage

and the car wasn't pointing towards your living room! i've done the same thing after working on my car, cept mine was pointing towards my chimney in my driveway. managed to step in and stomp the brake before making contact but man was that close!

Default I have a center grill section if you need one, it has some....

minor cosmetic issues, but it's really pretty decent overall. Let me know if you would like me to send you a picture or two.

Also sorry to hear about your misfortune, but we have all been there before. So, don't be too hard on yourself.

Let me know if I can help you with the grill.

Cheers,

Ted

Default See....straw poll says we've all done it....

I'd have to say that if there was a trophy it would have had my grandparents names on it as co-winners - years ago, when my grandparents owned my 1980 5k, they were going out to visit someone. My grandfather opened the passenger rear door for my grandmother so she could put her fur coat in the back seat. She did so and then got in...and then there has this great noise as my grandfather backed out of the garage and bent the ps rear door back on the front door - my grandmother had left the door open.....oops!
Cheers!
