Default Interesting concept

Does anyone know this conversion, very interesting i have to say, and very well done on the seats. Im not too crazy about the cowl in the hood but over all ive always liked the look of a super modded 4kq with a 20vt shoe horned under the hood.

Cowl in the hood is completely unnecessary, stock hood fits perfectly, and 20vt engine fits quite nicely. check motorgeek.com tons of 20vt swap gurus

I don't know if I'd say that 20VT conversions are "common" but a lot of people have done them. Indeed Motorgeek is your resource for information on how to do it. You'll find converted cars for sale on AudiFans all the time. I have one and am going to be doing another as soon as I find another donor.

I would say that a ventilated hood, via cowl or other vents aren't a bad idea. They can attract unwanted attention, but if you like the look os beig super-modded then you'll probably like them. There is a ton of heat under the hood, and allowing it to rise out from under the hood by additional vents is a good idea. The 20vt can make lots of hp and plenty of heat.

I'm running the stock tubo on my 20vt conversion with other mods and it is enough to keep me motivated. Derek over on MG has pushed his 20vt 4kq to 13.0 in the 1/4 mile. I don't think he has had it on a road track yet.

What are your plans for a car like that?

Indeed you can make some heat. The 90 is an NA and it makes enough heat that you don't want to touch the hood after it's been running for any length of time. I need to ventilate a hood for it, it's on the to-do list.

The Coupe with the 20VT makes a lot of heat too and it does have vents in the hood. I'm thinking of ways to add more.

Your you tube link shows the car running in Europe, I'd be a little wary about sending any money to him until he can prove it's in the US and titled/regged here.

Oh gosh i would never import a car like that from Europe, but the dam thing looks really nice in that vid i would say, which 20vt motor in specific such as the 3B or ANN seems to be easier to fit inside the 4kq bay ? Or does it matter which one i might want to choose.

The 200 20vt 3b motor is much easier to install than the AAN. I installed an AAN in my 4kq and feel I spent a lot of money to overcome some obstacles which are not there in the 3b.

It might be worth just buying a car with one already done. Posted a wanted ad on audifans and other places.
