Hey guys..........</gulp>
How do I start this off....
Due to a recent medical condition (<a href="http://www.aafp.org/afp/20001101/2067.html">Brachial Neuritis</a> ) I've lost the use of my right deltoid & supraspinatus muscles, causing subsequent muscle mass loss in those 2 & surrounding shoulder, back & chest muscles. Hence why I haven't been here for the last 6 weeks.
Basically, any movement where my arm needs to move that has the elbow leave my side I can't do.
It came on suddenly @ 3am Mar 1st, & by dinner time Mar 2nd I'd lost use of the arm. The avg time frame for this condition is loss of use after 1 week, so you can see how much more severe my situation is.
The pain (a 9+ on the 10 scale, apperantely making child birth pain nothing in relation to this) usually last only 2-3 weeks, mine went on for 5.5 weeks. Demerol & Tylenol 3's had no effect, so I was on pure Codeine.
Time frame for recovery is hopefully 2 yrs. 80% of folks get use back after 2 yrs, 90% after 3 yrs. But that still leaves 10% w/o any use @ all after 3+ yrs. Even though I seem to have a more severe case of this rare disease, I'm hoping motivation will push me ahead sooner.
I'm currentely looking to get a '95 or '98 A6q avant.
The other candidate is a '98 Volvo V70 R wagon.
Both auto & AWD, plus I need the room for family gear/kids.
So if you know of either for sale, send ads my way. Closer to PacNW the better.

So sorry to hear Michael...................
Wondered what happened to you. My prayers are with you and your family from this end. I understand the pain after dealing with the stroke 3 yrs back and the mental pain from Garrett's cancer (looks like he is winning the battle) I hope we all pray for your family and your healing. Anyone else willing to sell a sought after part and donate the funds as a gift to Michael's family? I will come up with something to let go. Cime in. Who's willing??

Re: So sorry to hear Michael...................
The parts sale for donation is a nice thought Tom, but sadly I have to much pride (ego maybe?)to take something like that. I very much appreciate the thought though. Luckily all my MRI's & CT scans have been covered by medical, and Canadian drugs aren't too expensive.
Now if you know someone that wants to buy my cars/parts package deal ASAP, that'd help.
Or someone that has an A6q or V70R wagon for sale cheap. (By the way Tom, any opinions on either?)
The mental pain on this end is very frustrating, as there's no real cause or treatment for my disease. I just have to wait.
The physical pain has died down, but while it was on.... Since I normally don't even take Aspirin/Tylenol for anything not even when I was rear ended a few years ago, having to take pure Codeine just to get some sleep through the nite was a shock.
Glad to hear Garrett's situation is progressing well as can be. Feel free to email me any updates & I can also email my phone # if you want to chat.
