Default perhaps the check valve is in backwards for the vent?

turn it around and see?

IIRC what was mentioned in the post that addressed this issue was either repair or replacement of the gravity valve (P/N# 893201753).

My cars do this from time to time also, I have not looked into replacing the valve yet. I have found that keeping the rubber sleeve that's around the gas pump nozzle from complete contacting my gas tanks filler neck (and thereby creating a seal of sorts) seems to keep the pump from "shutting off".

I know it's there to keep gas fumes in, but leaving it askew so it can "breathe" seems to work everytime I fill up. Try it out.

my '04 A4 is doing the same thing. The dealer just told me there is no fix for it and I have to replace the gas tank at a cost of $1,900.
