Duh!! I'm such a dufus. I start to put it back together again and am like..."uh, where are the vacuum pump holes".

Now what am I going to do with it...I guess I'll put it on eBay or something.

Part# 034 103 373

The head is perfectly flat. The only problem is I had to drill out an exhaust bolt hole so you'll need to put a thread insert in there.

I guess I'll get to work on the one which came off.

Just for my own curiosity, anyone know which engine this came off from since it didn't have a vacuum pump? Maybe from an MC?

Default Same part number...one with and one without vacuum pump holes.

The one from junk yard w/o vacuum pump mount (034 103 373):

Original from my '84 CGT (VIN D)(034 103 373-)...there is a small dash behind the part#, maybe that was the difference:

Default Don't know. I'll just rebuild the CGT head and reuse it anyway. I need to pay closer attn to detail.

That's what happens when you drink too much beer and work on cars ;-)

The guy just handed it to me and I matched the part #. Didn't think it would be so different.

Default The head you spent all that time cleaning doesn't need to have vacuum pump holes!

Many of us have found out that not having the vacuum pump doesn't make any differance.

If it were a choice of (with all other things equal) then sure, I'd take the vaccum pump head.

But if you've put a lot of work and money into the head you have (that you'd not likely make back), I'd just go with the head you have...

It's just the casting, so no love lost.
